InnoMedia is proud to bring a range of Astro products to the UK market. These include a variety of on-camera waveform vectorscope monitors (some of which incorporate useful 3D monitoring tools); larger picture monitors for use on-set (some also with built in waveform functionality) or in post production facilities (including Astro’s famous 4K 56” monitor) and their latest uncompressed hard disk and SSD video recorders. Below we show some selected highlights and best sellers from the Astro range. Many other Astro products are available (signal generators, modulators, transcoders, other monitors...), so if you don’t see something that is a perfect match to your requirements simply drop Russell a quick e-mail via the contacts page and for sure something will be suitable!

Specialist Monitors
Astro’s groundbreaking 56” 4K 10 bit monitor (DM-3410, right) replaces the earlier 8 bit version that has set the gold standard for high resolution displays since 2007. Comprising 4 matched and calibrated 1920 x 1080 display panels seamlessly integrated into one 3,480 x 2,160 screen, you won’t believe your eyes when you see this monitor showing a true 4K image.
With the recent expansion of 4K cinemas within the UK, this monitor offers an alternative to 4K projectors for smaller grading suites. It either takes 4 x single link, dual link or 3G HD-SDI inputs or 4 x DVI inputs for true 4K, or scales a 1920 x 1080 input up to 4K resolution, at frame rates up to 60p.

SM-3324

Astro’s SM-3324 (right) is a fully featured 3D HD display, using x-pol circular polarisation supported by lightweight circularly polarised passive glasses to give a wide viewing angle and high intensity image from its 1920 x 1200 panel.. It has 2 HD-SDI inputs for L/R input, allowing it to be fed directly from the camera output at full HD resolution, or it supports multiplexed 3D inputs such as side by side, over/under or line sequential. Add a second optional pair of inputs for Dual Link stereo support. L/R horizontal (+/- 127 pixel) and vertical (+/-63 lines) phase adjustment, allows fine tuning of L/R camera position, made even more powerful by a inbuilt zoom function for zeroing in on a precise reference. One channel can be inverted for mirror rig support, and cursors allow precise measurement of L/R displacement. Download the data sheet from here

Astro HR-7502 uncompressed SSD 2K, HD, and 3D recorder
The HR-7502 (right) is a camera mountable SSD recorder with removable Solid State Drive packs in either 1.5TB or 0.75TB sizes. It offers full 2K, HD, 3D and even 3G HD-SDI support. It has a pair of BNC inputs which can take either a 3D, 4:2:2 stereo pair or a dual link 4:4:4 12 bit input. With typical recording times of 30 mins for full resolution 24p Dual Link or 2 x 3D streams or 60 mins for a single 24p 4:2:2 HD stream, it can also record at full HD 60p for slowmo playback at 24p. With full Arri Alexa T-link approval expected during Mar 2011, the HR-7502 makes a compelling case for being partnered with the Alexa if you shoot uncompressed, and it will run off a supply from 10 to 36V. Transfer out DPX or original camera files via the on-board e-Sata connector, or use the imminent IM-1502 transfer station.(release date tba). The unit weighs approx 3kg.
