Kroma Telecom - European sourced Broadcast Monitors

Kroma Telecom are based in Madrid, Spain. Having been successfully supplying their domestic market with LCD and CRT monitors for may years, they have recently started to expand into export markets world wide, with great success.
With a range of sizes from 4 inch to 23 inch, (46 inch pending) their LCD products are ideally suited to broadcast applications such as OB trucks, Master Control Room, cost effective editing suites, location monitoring and QC rooms.

For HD location shooting, they have created an 8.4 inch 1024 x 768, high brightness LCD monitor with audio de-embedding and speakers, the LM6109.
|

|
|
With 1024 x 768 resolution it can show 720p images in full, native resolution, whilst scaling 1920 x 1080 inputs. In native form it supports 2 x PAL or NTSC inputs to UIT R-BT470/SMPTE 170M standard, with password upgradeable support for SD (SMPTE 259M) or HD (SMPTE 292/296M274M). It has two audio inputs that can be monitored via its built in speakers, or the de-embedded AES/EBU audio can be routed. For a data sheet click here

LM6109 8.4 inch HD location monitor

The LM6000 product range includes a broadcast 8.4” monitor (LM6009 - 1024 x 768) with option to mount two side by side in a 19” rack housing; a 15” monitor (LM6015 - 1024 x 768); an 18” monitor (LM6018 - 1280 x 1024); and a 17 inch 16:9 monitor (LM6017 - 1280 x 768). There will be 23 inch and 46 inch monitors becoming available during 2007 - the 23 inch will make its debut at IBC in September, whilst the “46” should be available for test and demo during Q4 of 2007.
All have a DVI input and offer password upgradeable PAL/NTSC, SD or HD inputs in active loop through with auto detection. Enabling the SDI options (SD or HD) allows de-embedding and routing to the analogue output of any audio. All smaller monitors can be supplied with a rack mounting kit.

Finally (for now) Kroma also have a range of 4 and 5 inch LCD monitors in 19 inch racking modules
(4 per for the 4” and 3 per for the 5”) specifically designed for OB and/or multi signal monitoring in confined locations.
