The Omnitek range of PCI card based test and measurement solutions are truly unique. Starting with the basic card, the user can add options and functionality to suit many different end applications:
R & D test lab - The world’s most advanced, integrated SD or HD signal and test pattern generator (OmniTek LAB pdf), including moving images, audio, stills, custom test patterns, zone plates and waveform/vectorscope analysis.
Broadcasters/OB trucks/Cinematographers - the OmniTek TQ (pdf 2.2MB) offers broadcasters waveform monitoring with all SD and HD standards supported in full, 10 bit glory! Vectorscope, RGB or YUV waveforms, mini pic, error detection and logging (gamut errors, dropped frames, audio silence, etc.) A low cost entry route is to purchase the SD-only system, but be assured this can be upgraded to include full HD support at any time. With many audio monitoring options, including Dolby E and Dolby Digital decoding, this is a very sensible alternative.
Post Production - the highest screen resolution (1920 x 1200) waveform display currently available (OmniView XR 2.5MB pdf) with a host of image and colour measurement display options. Suppporting both single (4:2:2) and optionally Dual Link/2K (4:4:4) HD-SDI inputs, you can see Waveforms and Vectorscope in full 10bit resolution with every pixel value measured and displayed. Playback and record moving sequences or individual still frames with the optional motion and capture module. XR even supports 2k images (2048 x 1556 at upto 18 fps or 2048 x 1080 at up to 24psf), with multiple audio options including Dolby E. The datasheet has full details.
Codec tweakers/DVD authors - the new Picture Quality Analyser (pdf 1.27MB) gives definitive answers on whose compression codec is best, or instant, objective feedback as you optimise your codec. It provides realtime PSNR comparisons between an uncompressed input signal and the resultant compressed output, plus information on both chroma and luma macroblocks. This is also useful for checking transmission paths, optimising DVD authoring compression or analysing camera/VCR compression artefacts.
